Nature’s pharmacy

In the 1960s it’s always a hive of activity at Voorstraat 24 in Numansdorp (The Netherlands). People wait patiently for advice, herbal tea or tinctures from Hendrik Bogaerds. Hendrik sees nature as one big, fantastic pharmacy for human health. You just need to know what you require and how to get it from nature. Hendrik knows that better than anyone. The ‘H.L. Bogaerds’ brand becomes so popular because of its consistent, high quality that Hendrik sets up a new company in 1966, Bonusan, with its own production factory.

The precursor to Natura Foundation

Hendrik happily shares his knowledge with healthcare professionals. He also gives lectures for the NWP, the Dutch professional association for naturopathy, and together with a fellow member of NWP’s board sets up the Academy for Naturopathy. The ‘Kruidenweetje’ (‘Herbal Lore’) collection makes his knowledge available to all Dutch-speakers in 1979.

The growth of Natura Foundation

Fast-forward to 1999 and grandson Rik Bogaerds sets up Natura Foundation. An independent research and training institute that researches and tests scientific insights on health, including through training and educational events. From 2009 onwards the company develops an international platform in Spain, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Belgium for the brand’s vision, and the knowledge and quality inherent in the training.

Wij zijn een innovatief kennis gedreven familiebedrijf met een unieke visie op gezondheid. Natura Foundation en Bonusan zijn samen de zichtbare merken in de markt. Natura Foundation verzorgt geaccrediteerde educatie, Bonusan produceert en verkoopt voedingssupplementen. Via deze twee merken geven wij invulling aan onze missie om kennis en inzichten over samenhang, achterliggende oorzaken en interventiemogelijkheden te vergroten, te delen en toe te passen. Zowel op het gebied van voeding, beweging, suppletie als leefstijl. Zo leveren we een belangrijke bijdrage aan de gezondheid van mensen, preventief en curatief.

Wij richten ons primair op de professionele markt van gezondheidsprofessionals, bijvoorbeeld orthomoleculaire therapeuten, diëtisten, fysiotherapeuten en natuurgeneeskundigen.

Werken bij Natura Foundation betekent dus: een uitdagende job in een enthousiast team van professionals, binnen een relevante branche die volop in beweging is. Kortom geen dag is hetzelfde!
